Andrés Hidalgo's design for our "Coastal Collection" is his ode to the Tayrona National Park in Colombia, the "gem of Colombia's Caribbean Coast." Andrés picked this spot specifically for it's great surfing, but it's also a beautiful, mystical place where the ocean meets the jungle. There is archaeological evidence of ancient human settlements in the area dating back to the 16th century, and the area is still home to 4 indigenous communities.

It's not hard to see why this place inspired Andrés, and as he told us, "It has always been a place of replenishment and spiritual connection, so I felt it was the perfect place to pay an homage with this design." This beautiful place has certainly inspired a beautiful design, bursting with color, natural energy, and positive vibes.

Andrés Hidalgo is a visual artist and illustrator born and raised in Colombia. He's been drawing since he was toddler, and as he told us, "it’s the activity that most connects me to my inner child, so much fun and imagination pours out of me when I’m doing it." That interest eventually led Andrés into paintang classes, studying Design and Arts in school, and a professional illustration career. He is very much inspired by the tropical environment around him. Growing up in Colombia, he spent his time around rivers, jungles, mountains, and banana trees, all of which have shaped his work and design aesthetic. His other influences come from the spiritual practices that his parents taught him from a young age, exploring fields of mysticism and occult energy. As he explains, "I feel very connected to the mystical and ethereal. My projects try to connect these two worlds into one visual universe."

Youthlink Auroville

Located in the intentional community of Auroville in South India, YouthLink is a non-profit organization working towards creating a network of proactive, dedicated, and capable individuals building a better future for all. YouthLink offers workshops, courses, and social gatherings of various nature to bring people together and build connections.

Andrés lived in Auroville and told us that the work he did there changed his life. In his words, "I learned so much about sustainability, fair trade, ecological practices and clean energy. That’s why I chose to give back to the young kids in that community who are creating projects related to the fields I mentioned before. It’s just a way of giving back to a place that gave me so much."
