In the words of illustrator, designer, entrepreneur, and adventurer Allie Vaughan, "this bandana was inspired by a two week trip to Colorado with my husband in 2017. My husband and I have always loved to travel and have a deep appreciation for the outdoors. On this trip, we backpacked deep into the Rockies with nothing but a backpack each. My husband had been on many backpacking trips in the mountains, but this was my first real experience deep in the mountains.

We set up camp, slept under the stars, and kept warm by the fire each night. It was truly a life changing experience and it is what really took my love for hiking, the mountains, and going on adventures to the next level. There truly is nothing like getting out there and being free from all of life's distractions and "getting lost" in the beauty of nature. Since that trip, I make it a point to get out and explore as much as I possibly can. I named my design "Get Lost," because for me, getting outside and "getting lost" is actually when I feel the most "found."

Organization for Autism Research

OAR was founded in December 2001 by seven individuals whose lives and families had been directly impacted by autism. They shared a common vision and set out on a singular mission – to apply science to answer the daily questions and challenges that autism presents to individuals with autism, their families, teachers, and caregivers.

OAR strives to use science to address the social, educational, and treatment concerns of self-advocates, parents, autism professionals, and caregivers. The mission of “applying” research to answer questions of daily concern to those living with autism defines their goals and program objectives and shapes their budget.

In addition to funding research, their mission includes the requirements to a) Disseminate new and useful information to as many members of the autism community as possible; and b) Direct all research and programs initiatives toward enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism.

Allie has close family members who are and have been affected by Autism. It was important to her to use this design to raise awareness and support for this complex, often misunderstood disorder.
