"Sunset" is Studio MUTI's love letter to the vast open spaces, dramatic landscapes, and stunning colors of the West. With this piece, MUTI explained that they "Imagined ourselves in the place of the rider and the feeling of existing in a vast and beautiful space, in sharp contrast to the busy city life that typically surrounds us." It is a testament to the global reach of the western allure that the idea of it is as clear in Cape Town as it is in California.

Drawing on influences like "All The Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy, the paintings of Brett Allen Johnson, and the classic John Wayne film "True Grit" - the team at MUTI has long been enamored with the mythology of the American West and it's place not only in US History, but in global culture. With "Sunset" they have channeled this adoration into a beautifully detailed, exquisitely patterned scene that instantly transports us to an iconic Western vista, on horseback, with endless sky above.

MUTI is a creative studio founded in 2011, based in the city of Cape Town, South Africa. MUTI’s small team of illustrators and designers are passionate about producing original and inspiring artwork, from lettering to icons, digital painting to animation. They have worked with an impressive lineup of prestigious brands including Nike, Red Bull, Google, Facebook, UNIQLO, American Express, Samsung and MANY others. A multi-talented, adaptable and experienced studio, each member of the team brings skills from backgrounds in design, illustration, clothing production, client service and advertising. The team draws inspiration from each other, always challenging themselves to push their creative limits. Though their work encompasses a wide range of styles, inspirations, and disciplines, MUTI’s projects are incredibly consistent in their eye-catching quality. Cape Leopard Trust

The Cape Leopard Trust (CLT) is an active predator conservation organization with a specific focus on protecting the Cape Leopard - a majestic species native to South Africa's Western Cape. In addition to their efforts the protect and preserve the Cape Leopard, CLT is also engaged in innovative research, conservation and education projects established to facilitate and promote the conservation of biological diversity. Their work is aimed at finding solutions to human-wildlife conflict in the area, and inspiring more interest and education about how human life affects wildlife.

The growth of Cape Town and human expansion have, as is all-to-common, encroached on the habitat of the Cape Leopard and put them in danger. MUTI is proud to help support the tireless work of this organization to help preserve these fascinating creatures and their habitats.
