For her "Creature Collection" design, Holly leaned into her trademark irreverent style while paying tribute to the western motifs often associated with bandanas. As she explained, "I always love a tongue and cheek double meaning in my artwork, and this one just seemed to be a perfect example of 'grabbing life by the horns.' Just get on the damn bull and try not to fall off!"

Holly told us that much of her recent work has been influenced by road trips through the U.S. - think deserts, cowgirls, vegas lights etc. In that vein, the reverence for the larger than life stars of the rodeo seem a natural fit for a bandana design. Like the open road that inspired it, Holly's bandana design encourages freedom, courage, and adventure. Life can throw you around sometimes, so you might as well enjoy the ride.

itrlstudio.com

Is This Real Life? is the moniker and brand of Manchester, UK designer and illustrator Holly Tudor. Naturally, Holly's cheeky bandana designs for her brand caught our eye, and we instantly knew we wanted to work with her. Though her funky doodles tend not to take themselves too seriously, they're also clearly rooted in deeper themes and inspiration. Holly told us that "So much of my style has developed through looking at ancient and historical art through travel and blending it with modern day themes." Citing influences from world travel, ancient drawings, painting, and sculptures, her work is able to adeptly explore existential questions through a light-hearted lens. Holly continues the theme of making high-level concepts more approachable with her Is This Real Life? brand. Through accessible pieces like t-shirts, bandanas, posters, and blankets adorned with her incredible designs, she creates wearable art for those who want to wear their passions on their sleeve. As a brand with a similar goal, we feel like kindred spirits with Holly, and we're honored to finally work together with her on this great bandana design.

Save The Children

Founded in 1919, Save The Children is an organization that works around the world to provide children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. They focus on a holistic approach that includes health and nutrition, education, emergency response, policy and advocacy, specifically in areas hard hit by war, famine, or natural disasters. They work in over 100 countries around the world, and in 2023 alone, Save the Children programs and partners helped 105.9 million children in 115 countries become healthier, safer and better educated.

Save the Children is the global leader in child-focused humanitarian response. They’ve been a lifeline for families fleeing violence in Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar and dozens of other crises around the world. Right now, amidst extremely challenging conditions, their teams have been working around-the-clock to find ways to deliver aid to children in Gaza (where Save the Children has had a presence since since 1973).

In explaining her choice of Save The Children to support, Holly told us "There’s a lot of horrible things going on in the world right now and it makes me feel so sad to think of any child having to grow up like that. Hopefully the donations from this bandana can help give a child in a war zone or unfortunate circumstances a better start at life."
