"Goes Around Comes Around"

Kentaro Yoshida is a prolific illustrator born in Japan and currently based out of Manly, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. Heavily influenced by the hard-charging surf culture of his adopted hometown, Ken's work often depicts a care-free boozy beach lifestyle. His designs stand out, however, by looking at the culture from an objective, somewhat macabre outsider perspective.

Ken grew up drawing and recreating characters from manga and Japanese comics he would read as a kid. Specifically, the manga CROWS by Hiroshi Takahashi featured a motorcycle gang that always wore leather jackets and pants with skull embroidery. Ken would draw them on his textbooks during high school and has been incorporating skeletons and skulls into his work ever since, contributing to the unique style he has developed over the years.

In addition to gig posters for bands like Blink 182 and The Pixies, Ken's work has been featured on products by major international brands including Billabong, Vans, Converse, and TCSS (The Critical Slide Society).

In reflecting on the "Outlaw" theme, Ken's design contemplates the circular, karmic effect of the actions lawbreakers often justify as simply part of an "outlaw lifestyle." Using examples from his own experience in the Australian surf culture, Ken explores what happens in the real world when the "outlaw mentality" becomes warped and dangerous.

Featuring Ken's signature skeletons and detailed, surf-inspired scenery, "Goes Around Comes Around" is an outlaw bandana built for beach life.

Academy Camp Fukushima is an organization that runs a series of camps for children in Fukushima, the area in Japan most affected by the 2011 Earthquake/Tsunami and resulting TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster. The camps offer children in the area (often dealing with debilitating after-effects from nuclear exposure) a chance to learn, play, and grow in a fun and supportive environment.

Since it's founding in 2012, Academy Camp's staff and volunteers have been able to put on 2-3 camps per year, improving the lives of 30 elementary, junior high or high school students at a time.  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
